How to Make a Matcha-Gin Cocktail

How to Make a Matcha-Gin Cocktail

If you like gin, you will love this delicious, earthy cocktail that is actually great at any time of the day. It is refreshing enough to sip all summer long. You will love the natural energy that comes from drinking this. Remember, matcha is full of healthy goodness, so you can feel less guilty at happy hour.

I like to enjoy a cocktail here and there, but I am not a bartender, so I like easy recipes that contain things in my pantry and refrigerator. Once I discovered matcha and the many ways to use it in my food and drinks, crafting cocktails was the next step. You will not be disappointed with this cocktail!

You will need:

  • ¼ cup of mint leaves
  • ¾ ounce of agave, honey, or my fave date syrup
  • ¾ ounce of fresh lime juice
  • 1 ½ cup cold water
  • 2 ½ ounces of gin
  • 1 tsp of high-quality matcha
  • Ice

Like in any cold beverage, the primary step is to dissolve the matcha with a bit of boiling water and whisk. I like to do so for a few minutes, then immediately place the matcha to cool in the refrigerator. Leave it for approximately 10 minutes.

Once the matcha is cooled, you can begin crafting the fabulous cocktail. The next step is to place the mint leaves, agave syrup, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker and shake it.

After that, you can add the remaining ingredients like matcha, water, and gin.

Shake it all up and pour in your glasses with ice.

Here is a tip to make the cocktail look even prettier:

You can buy large ice mold makers. I will copy the link below. This will look very pretty with the cocktail, and because the ice is more significant than the usual size, it takes longer to dissolve.

Garnish with fresh mint leaves and sliced lime, enjoy:)
